Meet the Owner of Salt Creek Marketplace
Salt Creek Marketplace Owner Doreen Linder
Doreen Linder is an entrepreneur who graduated with a business degree from Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. The woman grew up in Paterson, NJ which was just outside New York City. New York City was where she developed her passion for retail and fashion. Since college, she has worked at retail stores, including Macy’s, Wannamakers, Talbot’s and other boutiques before embarking on creating a great place for shopping in Pawhuska OK.
She moved to Oklahoma in 2010. Since then she had worked in the gift industry, selling clothing and gifts to the trade. Ms. Linder was the sales representative with the most growth her first year with the company. She was also one of the top representatives with most new accounts in the Tulsa area. Also, she had a retail business in the Woodlands Hill Mall.
In 2017, she walked into Salt Creek as a gift sales representative, and the former owner told her that she was selling the store. Doreen took that opportunity, knowing that she could turn the retail store into a successful boutique with her years of experience.
Since then, Salt Creek has moved up the street on Kihekah Avenue to a location across from the Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile. People from all over come to shop in Salt Creek. People as far as Sierra Leone, England, and Japan have been in Salt Creek.
Doreen is married to Paul Linder who is a Senior Project Engineer. They recently moved from Owasso to make Pawhuska their home because of the success of their store. They have two children, Nathan who is 23 and Jared who is 21.
